We are thrilled to introduce Karen Anne Cabonita, a dedicated and passionate nurse who has been making a profound impact in the healthcare field for over a decade. Originally from the Philippines, Karen holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Primary Health Care. She began her nursing career back home, working as a Registered Nurse for five years before making the life-changing decision to move to Canada in 2015.
Since then, Karen has been serving as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the past eight years, gaining invaluable experience across various healthcare departments in Montreal, Quebec. Her journey didn’t stop there—Karen sought out new challenges and opportunities, which led her to the lower north shore of Quebec, then to Kuujjuaq in Nunavik, and finally to Nunavut, where she currently resides.
Karen’s commitment to the northern communities she serves is unwavering. Despite the unique challenges that come with working in remote areas, Karen finds the experience incredibly rewarding. Along the way, she met her husband, who is also a nurse, and together they continue to contribute to the healthcare landscape of Canada’s northern regions.
Karen’s passion for nursing, her dedication to making a meaningful difference, and her ability to inspire and support her fellow LPNs have made her a proud member of Nunavut’s nursing team. We are confident that her skills, compassion, and leadership will continue to have a lasting impact on the communities she serves.
Welcome, Karen—we are so excited to have you with us!
