Indigenous nurses and nursing students (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) in Yellowknife are invited to join a community lunch and circle gathering on December 2, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Tree of Peace Friendship Centre.
This gathering creates space to reflect on Indigenous nurse wellness, belonging, and intergenerational mentorship, drawing from Dr. Christina Chakanyuka’s doctoral work, Indigenous Nurse Wellness and Intergenerational Mentorship with/in Community.
Rooted in relationship, circle teachings, and reciprocity, this time together will support connection, conversation, and early seed-planting toward an Indigenous nurse advisory and mentorship network in the North (NT/NU).
Who is invited:
- Indigenous nurses and students (First Nations, Inuit, Métis)
- All designations — LPN, BSN, MN, NP, PhD nursing students and nurses
- Local, in-person participation
Additional notes:
- Lunch will be provided
- Photography/social sharing is by consent only
- A Fort Smith gathering will take place on December 8, with more communities to come
