The Scope of Practice document provides guidance on regulation, the four domains of practice, public protection and includes a decision-making framework that provides direction for nurses making decisions about their individual scope of practice. You will also find case studies that illustrate how the decision-making framework may be used in practice.

Nurse Practitioner Practice & Prescriptive Guidelines (2017)

This Minister-approved document outlines the diagnostic, procedural, and prescriptive authority of Nurse Practitioners in the Northwest Territories.

Originally approved under the name Registered Nurses Association of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (RNANTNU), now theCollege of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CNNN), these guidelines remain in effect and apply to Nurse Practitioners registered with CNNN.
