On this page, employers can find information and resources related to verifying and reporting the registration status of nurses, including inquiries for LPNs, NPs, RNs, RPNs, and, as well as guidance on responsibilities outlined in Policy R01 and R02, and assistance with nursing reinstatement registration inquiries.

Verifying Registration Status

Employers are responsible for verifying that the Nurses they employ have a registration of practice with the College. You can verify the status of a nurse employed by checking if they are registered with the College.

If you are an applicant or registrant and you would like the College to share information with a potential employer, or current employer, please complete the Information Sharing Consent Form. Please click here 

If you want an update regarding an update regarding potential employees’ status, please make sure that they have filled out the information-sharing consent form. We are not permitted to release any information regarding the applicant’s status unless the sharing consent form has been signed. Please click here. 

Mandatory Reporting by Employers

If you terminate or suspend a Nurse for unprofessional conduct, you must also report this to the College. Click here for more information on conduct and reporting.
